If you are a Chiikawa fan visiting Japan, you may have seen photos of exclusive items handed out at Japanese movie theaters.

These items are called nyūjōsha tokuten (入場者特典), which means an admission gift or theater bonus. They are limited-edition collectibles given to people who watch a movie at a participating theater in Japan.

The latest admission gift for Chiikawa the Movie: The Secret of Mermaid Island (映画ちいかわ 人魚の島のひみつ) is a set of Charm Mini Figures featuring two characters together.

Wave 6 begins on October 10, 2026, and includes two random designs:

  • Chiikawa & Hachiware
  • Usagi & Momonga

This guide explains what the latest bonus looks like, how international visitors can receive one in Japan, and every Chiikawa movie admission gift released so far.

Latest update: Wave 6 begins at participating theaters in Japan on October 10, 2026. Each moviegoer receives one randomly selected Charm Mini Figure while supplies last.

Chiikawa Movie Admission Gift Wave 6: Charm Mini Figures

The sixth admission gift is a Charm Mini Figure, with two Chiikawa characters appearing together in each design.

This is the first Chiikawa movie admission gift to feature character pairs rather than one character per figure.

Wave 6 Designs

There are two designs in the Wave 6 collection.

Chiikawa & Hachiware

Chiikawa and Hachiware are shown holding up a spoon filled with curry. The figure recreates one of the movie’s memorable scenes.

Usagi & Momonga

The second figure features Usagi and Momonga carrying out their unusual plan against the Siren. It is another scene-based design made especially for the movie.

The figures are distributed randomly, so you cannot choose which pair you receive.

When Does Wave 6 Start?

Wave 6 begins on Saturday, October 10, 2026.

There is no fixed nationwide end date. Each theater will stop distributing the gift when its supply runs out.

The previous Wave 5 gift, the Himitsu Book, may be distributed only through October 9, 2026, even at theaters that still have copies remaining. Wave 5 and Wave 6 are not scheduled to be given out together.

If Wave 6 is the main reason for your visit, book a screening as close to the release date as possible. A ticket does not reserve an admission gift, and stock may run out before your screening date.

How to Get a Chiikawa Movie Admission Gift in Japan

International visitors follow the same rules as local moviegoers. You do not need to live in Japan, but you must buy a ticket and attend an eligible screening at a participating theater.

Here is how it normally works:

  1. Find a participating Japanese theater showing the Chiikawa movie.
  2. Buy a ticket for a standard, IMAX or 4DX screening.
  3. Go to the theater on your screening date.
  4. Show or scan your ticket when entering the auditorium area.
  5. A theater staff member will hand you one admission gift if stock is still available.

The gift is handed out when you enter the screening area—not when you buy the ticket.

Important Distribution Rules

  • Each person receives one gift per screening.
  • Holding several tickets for the same screening does not mean one person can receive several gifts.
  • Gifts are not handed out before entry or after leaving the screening.
  • Wave 6 is random, and the design cannot be selected.
  • The gift is available for standard, IMAX and 4DX screenings.
  • Each theater has a limited quantity.
  • Theaters ask customers not to contact them about exact stock numbers.
  • Theater trading is discouraged.
  • Admission gifts are not sold separately at the concession stand or merchandise shop.

What Was the Wave 5 “Himitsu Book”?

映画ちいかわ入場者特典第5弾「ひみつ本」の裏表紙

Wave 5 was a special 52-page booklet called the Himitsu Book (ひみつ本), meaning “Secret Book.” It was distributed from September 19 through October 9, 2026, while supplies lasted.

The book includes material connected to the development of the Siren Arc, including:

  • Early story illustrations drawn while the arc was being planned
  • An early idea featuring Anoko in place of the Siren
  • Concept material in which Hitoha and Futaba had faces and dialogue
  • A manga titled Ode to Shima (オデと島)
  • Nagano’s newly drawn food essay, Muchaumā Diary (むちゃうま日記)

The booklet is written in Japanese, but fans can still enjoy the illustrations, character art and production material.

My Wave 5 Book

I received the Himitsu Book at a theater in Japan. The front cover has a blue-to-pale-pink gradient with two characters shown from behind.

The back cover features Chiikawa, Hachiware and Usagi, along with food and island-themed illustrations. It feels more substantial than a typical free theater handout and makes a lovely souvenir from the movie.

Wave 1: Eight Charm Mini Figures

Wave 1 was distributed when the movie opened in Japan on July 24, 2026.

The collection included eight random characters:

  • Chiikawa
  • Hachiware
  • Usagi
  • Momonga
  • Kurimanju
  • Rakko
  • Shisa
  • Furuhonya

Each small figure could be attached to a bag, umbrella or other personal item. The design was similar to a Japanese mejirushi accessory, or identifying charm.

Wave 2: Bonbon Drop Sticker Sheet

映画ちいかわ入場者特典第2弾のボンボンドロップシール

Wave 2 was a movie-exclusive Bonbon Drop Sticker sheet.

The raised, glossy stickers featured the main Chiikawa characters as well as characters and important objects from the movie, including the Siren, Shima Jirō, Hitoha, Futaba and the mermaids.

Unlike the random figure waves, every visitor received the same sticker sheet while supplies lasted.

Wave 3: “Happy Siren♪” Pull-Back Cars

映画ちいかわ入場者特典第3弾プルバックカーのハチワレとうさぎ

Wave 3 featured three random pull-back cars officially called Gokigen Siren♪ (ごきげんセイレーン♪), which can be translated as “Happy Siren♪.”

The three designs showed the Siren carrying one of the following characters:

  • Chiikawa
  • Hachiware
  • Usagi

I received the Hachiware and Usagi versions. When the figure is pulled backward and released, the Siren moves forward across the floor.

It is both a display item and a small working toy, making it one of the most unusual bonuses in the collection.

Wave 4: Four More Charm Mini Figures

Wave 4 returned to the Charm Mini Figure format with four new characters:

  • Shima Jirō
  • The Siren
  • Hitoha
  • Futaba

These characters were not included in the eight-design Wave 1 collection, so Wave 4 expanded the movie’s figure lineup.

Are the Same Admission Gifts Available Outside Japan?

Do not assume that an overseas release will include the same Japanese admission gifts.

Movie bonuses are usually arranged by the distributor and theaters in each country. An international screening may have a different promotion, a different item or no physical gift at all.

If the movie is released in your country, check announcements from the local distributor and cinema chain rather than relying on the Japanese schedule.

The dates in this article apply to participating theaters in Japan.

Tips for International Visitors

Check the Japanese Screening Schedule

Screening times and formats vary by theater. Use the official movie website and the theater’s own website to confirm the date, time and format before traveling.

Book Early, Especially for the First Weekend

Popular bonuses can attract repeat visitors and collectors. Booking early gives you a better choice of seats, although it does not guarantee that the gift will still be available.

Arrive with Time to Spare

Japanese theaters normally distribute the item near the entrance to the auditorium area. Arriving early makes it easier to find the correct screen and ask staff for help if needed.

Keep the Packaging

Random figures are often handed out in sealed packaging. Keeping the package can help protect the item during your trip and preserve it as a collectible.

Check the Movie Language

The Japanese theatrical version may not include English subtitles. Language options can vary, so check the specific screening details before purchasing your ticket.

Useful Japanese Phrases

If you need help at the theater, these phrases may be useful.

Is the Chiikawa admission gift still available?
ちいかわの入場者特典はまだありますか?
Chiikawa no nyūjōsha tokuten wa mada arimasu ka?

Where do I receive the admission gift?
入場者特典はどこでもらえますか?
Nyūjōsha tokuten wa doko de moraemasu ka?

Is this screening eligible for the admission gift?
この上映回は入場者特典の対象ですか?
Kono jōeikai wa nyūjōsha tokuten no taishō desu ka?

Please note that the official distribution rules ask visitors not to contact theaters about exact remaining quantities. These phrases are more suitable for confirming general availability when you are already at the cinema.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can foreign tourists receive the Chiikawa movie gift?

Yes. The gift is provided to eligible moviegoers, regardless of nationality, as long as they purchase a ticket and attend a participating screening in Japan while stock remains.

Can I choose Chiikawa & Hachiware or Usagi & Momonga?

No. Wave 6 is distributed randomly, so you cannot select or exchange the design at the distribution point.

Can I receive the bonus without watching the movie?

No. Buying a ticket alone is not enough. The gift is handed out when you enter the screening area to watch the movie.

Will I receive more than one gift if I buy multiple seats?

Not for the same screening. The official rules state that each attending person receives one item, even if that person holds multiple tickets for the same screening.

Is the Wave 6 gift available at IMAX and 4DX screenings?

Yes. The official Japanese rules state that the gift is available for standard, IMAX and 4DX screenings while supplies last.

Is the Himitsu Book available in English?

The Japanese theater bonus is printed in Japanese. It is still enjoyable as an art and collector’s book, but readers should not expect an official English translation inside the booklet.
